We aim for sustainability

ELFY 1805 is a hybrid vessel (diesel/electric engine) that aims at environmental sustainability and is intended for transportation of passengers and bikes in navigable rivers within natural parks, marine protected areas and lakes. It is therefore a vessel that works in favour of sustainability and sails with respect for the areas where it operates.

The propulsion is maintained by electric motors which are provided with electricity by the presence of on board battery packs, arranged in specific spaces. The boat is also equipped with two diesel electric generators that ensure propulsion in case of depletion of batteries. It should be mentioned that the batteries are capable of providing electricity for a continuous use of 3 hours with a constant speed of 7 knots.

The absolute absence of noise allows passengers to fully enjoy the landscape and sailing.

The propulsion is carried out via two stern-pods powered from the electric motors without the need for use of rudders since they can rotate about their vertical axis ensuring increased manoeuvrability. Carrying up to 55 passengers, the hull needs to be hydrodynamically great in stability and for this reason, this vessel is designed to experience a maximum inclination of 4 degrees.

ELFY 1805 is powered by two 360V three-phase asynchronous engines that achieve a power output of 47 Kw with a nominal twister of 260 Nm and a weight of about 150 kg. The water-cooled electric motors are installed inside an AISI steel underwater bulb.

The boat is equipped with 4 boarding points (2 per side), one 1m wide at the stern and the one 1.4m wide at the bow  that allow easy boarding of bicycles and baby strolls. The wide side window (25 m2) when partially opened, illuminates the interior and allows you to enjoy the landscape even on rainy and cold days.

The hull is a round-shaped monohull with a full-load draught of only 35cm, which allows navigation even in extremely shallow waters such as some river passages where there can be accumulations of sediment.

Construction materials also aim for environmental sustainability, as the hull and superstructure are built out of aluminium alloy that is 100% recyclable and can be used infinitely to give life to new products. The rest of the components are made out of glass and recyclable plastics.
