Lately, the need for solving the problem of sea pollution is becoming more and more imperative. Different kinds of waste such as oil, gasoline and microplastic are a serious threat for the marine ecosystem. For this reason, we felt obliged to develop a multipurpose boat focused on giving a solution to this problem. The boat we have designed is capable of carrying out every work related to the antipollution. Its large oil recovery tank allows for recovery and storage of oil and dirty waters. Recovery and discharging of oil can be achieved using an appropriate pumping system. The deck is equipped with a crane that allows lifting of auxiliary machinery and the hoses for aspiration and can also accommodate a winch for placing anti-pollution floating barriers.

Ecomulticat is designed to operate in coastal areas, near terminals and harbours. The minimum crew requirement is two workers, but it can host maximum 5 workers in three bed rooms. The first floor of the superstructure has one bathroom, a kitchen, a messroom and a warehouse. The second floor accommodates the wheelhouse which is specifically designed to allow for wide view of the whole vessel. The main services it can provide are:

    • Liquid waste management
    • Fire surveillance
    • Rental of floating anti-pollution barriers
    • Emptying and cleaning of oil
    • Drainage of cesspools
